Deep Winter is the darkest color type within the clear and cool Winter palette. Its main characteristic is ‘Dark,’ with the secondary characteristics being ‘Clear’ and ‘Cool.’

The Deep Winter leans slightly towards Autumn. Its main criterion is dark colors. Eyes and hair are never light. Deep Winter types sometimes shift towards the Cool Winter.
Skin: light, cool beige, olive, black, black-brown
Hair: black, black-brown, medium brown, steel gray, without golden streaks but reddish shimmer is possible
Eyes: black, black-brown, dark Hazel Eyes, very dark olive or very dark blue are also possible
The Colors of the Deep Winter
Colors to avoid for Deep Winter:
Deep Winter types should definitely avoid colors that are light. They will never be able to borrow colors from the Summer palettes. Even though the Summer types are cool, the colors would not only be too light but also too muted. The same applies to the Spring palette. These colors are clear, but besides being light, they are also too warm. The muted and warm colors of Warm and Soft Autumn usually do not work. These may be dark in different degrees, but both palettes are too warm and have the mutedness of colors as their main or secondary characteristic.
Color types from which Deep Winter might borrow:
Deep Winter types can borrow from Clear and Cool Winter as long as the colors are dark enough and not too clear. In principle, all dark tones of these palettes are suitable. Colors can also be borrowed from the sister type Deep Autumn palette as long as they are not too warm and muted.

Deep Winter Make up
The optimal Deep Winter makeup includes dark, clear, and cool colors with high contrast to each other. On many other color types, it would be perceived as strong, but on the Deep Winter type, it looks natural and corresponds to its dark overall appearance with high contrasts and rather cool colors. Avoid bronzer and generally colors in gold, yellow, and peach tones. These are too warm for you and stand out unnaturally.

Foundation & Concealer
Choose foundation and concealer according to your skin tone. Deep Winter types usually have a neutral to cool skin tone. Often, a neutral or cool shade of beige or olive works. Foundations with yellow undertones may not work. They are too warm for your cool appearance.
Finishing Powder
Choose a finishing powder that matches the tone of your foundation. If your favorite brand does not have neutral or cool tones, choose a translucent powder.
Bronzer, Contouring & Highlighter
Unfortunately, Deep Winter types cannot tolerate the typical bronzers. Bronzer should highlight the warmth in the skin. Since there is no warmth in the Deep Winter type, the typical bronzer will make you look sick. If you want to use bronzer look for one with cool undertones. Use a highlighter in a cool color if you want to highlight specific areas.

Eyeshadows
Use cool, well-pigmented eyeshadows that complement your appearance. Warm and soft colors can make you look quickly painted or sick. For accents, you can use the colors from the Deep Winter color pass; for base colors, use the colors from the Neutral Colors for Deep Winter color pass. Further suggestions can be found on the makeup card above or in the Digital Color Palette. For dramatic looks, you can also use black.
Generally, your eyes are dark and intense. Therefore, make sure not to use too dark, intensely pigmented eyeshadows.
Mascara
Your best choice for mascara is black. It provides the necessary high contrast. You can also experiment with other colors. Just make sure they are clear and cool. Avoid warm brown tones and choose a cooler black-brown instead.
Eyeliner & Kohl
The best eyeliner or kohl is always the one that harmonizes with your eye color. You can find suitable, cool colors on the makeup card for Deep Winter. Avoid light, strongly luminous, or warm colors.
Product Recommendations for Deep Winter Eye Makeup*
Blush
The choice of your blush depends on how dark you are. If you are a lighter Deep Winter, orient yourself towards the lighter raspberry tones. If you are a dark Deep Winter, choose the dark raspberry and raisin tones.
Lipstick
Dark, highlighted lips are perfect for the Deep Winter type. What may look exaggerated on other color types brings your face into harmony. Dark plum, raspberry, and burgundy tones are your choice. Avoid ‘Nude Lips.’ They are not intense enough.
Product Recommendations for Deep Winter Cheeks and Lips*
Daytime Makeup
Your natural look has little to do with a ‘Natural Makeup Look.’ This usually uses many nude, brown, and taupe tones. While you can orient yourself to these tones from your makeup card for your eye makeup, nude tones do not work for your lips.
As a rule of thumb, remember that you should always emphasize your lips more than your eyes. Since your eyes naturally have high intensity, this contributes better to the balance of your face.
Use colors from your palette that harmonize with your natural color scheme for your daytime makeup. However, do not use too many different colors; that would be too much and could make you look like a clown.
Evening Makeup
Classic smokey eyes, black eyeliner, and darker, bold colors for the lips create a dramatic look for the Deep Winter type. Winged eyeliner or cat eyes are perfect. Do not mix too many different colors here either. You can also simply follow the daytime makeup and emphasize the eyes a little more and choose a darker lipstick.

Deep Winter Clothing and Accessories
The main features of the Deep Winter type are its dark overall impression and high contrasts. Color selection and combination of Deep Winter clothing and accessories should reflect and complement these main features so that the Deep Winter type looks vibrant.
This works best with the combination of one of your neutral colors from your and an accentuating color from your Deep Winter Digital Color Palette. If you choose a light neutral color, combine it with a dark accent color and vice versa.
You can also choose only dark colors, but contrast flatters you better. Just make sure the contrast is not too high – do not choose colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel.
Color Combinations Deep Winter Should Avoid
All color combinations that have low contrasts to each other, such as monochrome colors, and very high contrasts (complementary colors = opposite on the color wheel), Tetradic color systems are also not suitable. The latter is a complementary color scheme that has been expanded by another complementary color scheme.
Also, avoid combinations of exclusively light colors from your neutral color pass. Since you are a dark type, this combination does not flatter you.

Patterns and Prints for Deep Winter Clothing
For patterns and prints the same applies as for color combinations. Patterns that consist exclusively of Deep Winter colors are best. If only a very small part of the pattern consists of a color from a disharmonious color palette, the pattern will surely flatter you as well. Avoid patterns with a predominant proportion of colors that come from other color palettes.
Large patterns with high contrasts suit you well, but low contrasts and delicate patterns make you look washed out. It’s best to choose geometric patterns or abstract prints. If you like floral or nature patterns, choose stylized instead of natural representations.

Appropriate Clothing
You’re best off choosing appropriate clothing with the help of a color palette. You always have your Digital Color Palette with you. Simply place it on the garment you’ve chosen and see if the colors harmonize. At first, this may be a bit difficult for you, but over time, you’ll develop a good eye for which colors match and which don’t.

Jewelry
Deep Winter types usually have many neutral undertones, so silver and gold jewelry suit you. However, the overall undertones are rather neutral-cool, so avoid warm gold tones that lean towards orange. Pewter also goes very well with you.
Since your color type stands a little between Soft and Clear, theoretically both matte and radiant metals suit you. Try out what you like better on you. Suitable gemstones are ruby, amethyst (dark), sapphire, and emerald.
